SUPERTRICK GAMES, Inc.

This video game studio is operated by Shuji Ishikawa. It began with SUDA51‘s founding of GRASSHOPPER MANUFACTURE INC. on March 30, 1998. GRASSHOPPER functioned independently until January 30, 2013, when it was acquired by GungHo Online Entertainment, Inc. GRASSHOPPER’s first title grown under GungHo, LET IT DIE, was published in 2016. During the game’s third season, GungHo began reshaping the studio. In 2018, a new company called GhM Co., Ltd was established, GRASSHOPPER was renamed SUPERTRICK GAMES, Inc., and finally GhM Co., Ltd was rechristened with the GRASSHOPPER name. While this new GRASSHOPPER studio was relatively uninvolved with LET IT DIE by its 15th season, on May 31, 2021, ownership of the team was transferred to NetEase Interactive Entertainment Pte. Ltd. SUPERTRICK continues to support the LET IT DIE franchise, which was followed by DEATHVERSE: Let it Die, their first title since rebranding in 2018. A third game is also in development.

In response to the Tōhoku disaster on March 11, 2011, the studio published FROG MINUTES and auctioned memorabilia to raise proceeds for charity. In total, ¥3,071,545 was donated to the Japanese Red Cross Society, and $51,000 was donated to the Red Cross.

The studio’s original name paid homage to the Ride song “Grasshopper”, which SUDA51 often listened to in his downtime while working on SUPER FIRE PROWRESTLING Ⅲ: FINAL BOUT with Human Entertainment.
