This updated version of Shadows of the DAMNED is being remastered by ENGINE SOFTWARE for modern platforms. ENGINE previously handled the rereleases of killer7, NO MORE HEROES, and NO MORE HEROES 2: DESPERATE STRUGGLE, however, HELLA REMASTERED will differ from past works by including new content, such as alternate skins for Garcia Hotspur. The game will be published in 2024 by NetEase Interactive Entertainment Pte. Ltd. on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. A demo of the game was playable at PAX East, where guests also competed for prizes in trivia and blackjack contests.
New features
HELLA REMASTERED will introduce four new skins for Garcia Hotspur:
- Demonio Garcia: This skin was inspired by concept art for a demonic transformation which did not appear in the final game. Garcia‘s attacks deal twice as much damage in this form.
- Ocho Corazones: This skin transforms Garcia into Eight Hearts from TRAVIS STRIKES AGAIN: NO MORE HEROES.
- Placa Garcia: This skin disables Garcia‘s jacket for the duration of the game. Originally he could only be seen this way in the opening scenes.
- Kamikaze Garcia: This skin replaces Garcia‘s outfit with the one worn by Kamikaze Wataru in dance in the dark.
