This platform game inspired by NO MORE HEROES was developed by MechaWare and released between August 16 and August 29, 2009. It was produced for the 49th Mario Fan Games Galaxy Minigame Competition. Originally billed as Episode 1, the game was later updated to also include a second stage.
Plot
NO MORE PLUMBERS loosely followed the plot of NO MORE HEROES, with Mario lining up to purchase a copy of SUPER MARIO BROS. 2, only to realize his wallet was empty. Later, Peach approached Mario in a bar, offering him a series of jobs at her castle in exchange for the money to buy the game.
Mario arrived at Peach’s castle and found a wrench in the leaky basement. Further on, he encountered Wario, who mentored him as he worked on the castle’s plumbing, and rewarded him with the Butt Drop technique for his effort. A loud sound erupted from upstairs, prompting Mario and Wario to investigate.
Mario and Wario returned to the lobby in time to witness a major leak coming from the gardens. Mario followed the leak outdoors, where he eliminated a clan of Goombas, led by the GIANT GOOMBA.
Later, Mario returned to the castle to help Peach with a new problem in the attic. Armed with a shovel from a storage closet, Mario reached for the stars and fought a battle against the moon. Cracking a hole in the moon, Mario entered and found himself in Peach’s attic, fighting off hordes of rats and their leader, KAMEK KOOPA.

Notes
- Wario’s personality in NO MORE PLUMBERS was lifted from Thunder Ryu. Both characters spoke using heavy innuendo and reliance on the word “THAT.”
- The Bullet Bill sequence in the gardens was inspired by the Baseball Battle missions in NO MORE HEROES.
- Mario’s battle enroute to the moon was inspired by the Pure White Giant Glastonbury sequence in NO MORE HEROES.
- NO MORE PLUMBERS was not completely overlooked in its time, having been recognized by Destructoid writer Jonathan Holmes. Holmes later put together a fan game of his own in the form of killer BADMINTON.
- Under his real name, Mecha the Slag later designed A HAT IN TIME, after the game’s successful crowdfunding campaign met its goal on the second day.
