This live presentation was streamed from GRASSHOPPER MANUFACTURE‘s studio in Tokyo, Japan on May 28, 2010. It was hosted by Rolling Uchizawa and Megumi Ito and also attended by SUDA51, Mask de Uh, DJ HAPIO, MARU, Akira Yamaoka, Kazutoshi Iida, Lupin Kojima, and John Davis. The topics included the video game NO MORE HEROES 2: DESPERATE STRUGGLE, including footage from the production of the game’s closing song “NO MORE NO” and the direction of GRASSHOPPER MANUFACTURE. Songs were also performed by DJ HAPIO. Questions were taken by Facebook, Twitter, and email and answered live, and the winner of GRASSHOPPER‘s Quiz or DIE! contest was announced. Bizarre Jelly 5 T-shirts were also handed out to prize winners. Grasstream: HOPPER’S TV was broadcasted live on Ustream. It was followed a year later by GRASSTREAM2 TRAVIS VS. GARCIA.
Most notably, SUDA51 demonstrated The Silver running on a Nintendo DS Lite while onstream. This port was first teased at the HOPPER’s vol.2 SNAKE vs. ZOMBIE presentation years earlier, but was seemingly canceled sometime after Grasstream: HOPPER’S TV aired. Eventually, a successful port was released worldwide in 2016 in the form of The SILVERCASE.
