Suda5150

This character appeared in the Grasshopper Direct 2023, standing in for SUDA51 anytime James Mountain turned attention to the GRASSHOPPER MANUFACTURE CEO. He dressed in a green suit and tie, with a black undershirt and red luchador mask, while his gold skin glowed bright enough to illuminate his clothing. While seated on a tiger in an ornate golden hall, Suda5150 shed light on his background and the history of GRASSHOPPER, and was frequently interrupted by James turning the attention back to himself and Maddie Copp. While James first introduced him as SUDA51, Maddie immediately recognized the imposter from his strong use of English. James admitted they tricked the audience the first time Suda5150 appeared, and announced the real SUDA51 would now appear for some closing words. This too was a trick, as Suda5150 appeared once again, continuing the story he began earlier in the broadcast.

Suda5150 was depicted by GRASSHOPPER community manager James Mountain. The character was only identified as SUDA51 in the broadcast, however, James declared his “semi-official” name to be Suda5150 in a tweet. His name has also been rendered in capital letters in Japanese posts.

Suda5150 has not appeared since Grasshopper Direct 2023, although a still image of him from the broadcast has been used to obscure gameplay for GRASSHOPPER‘s next title in recent episodes of THE DEV ROOM.
