This film appeared as a fake ad in the Grasshopper Direct 2023. Its trailer, directed by The Frikanih, starred a blood-soaked man sitting on a couch, anxiously dwelling on his losses. He cleaned himself up and loaded a pistol, then fired it several times. While PISTOL YAKUZA was scheduled for premiere in the summer of 2163, the franchise was much older than that, as Travis Touchdown owned more than one PISTOL YAKUZA shirt in 2023. That being said, the logo had changed by the time the film was marketed.
A video game adaptation of the film called PISTOL YAKUZA: THE VIDEOGAME was also developed.
