killer7 Vol.1

Six issues of this comic series produced by Kinetic Underground were published between July 2005 and June 2006 through Devil’s Due Publishing. The first two issues were only distributed promotionally, before the commercial run began in February 2006. killer7 Vol.1 mostly retells the events of the killer7 video game, leading up to the Killer7‘s assignment at Ulmeyda City, with some minor reframing from writer Arvid Nelson.

Notes

  • Death Blow Icons would like to give special thanks to killer7 Vol.1 director David Forrest, who assisted in the writing of this report. David clarified many details that were not as well known, and some which were never documented at all.
  • Some of the comic staff changed names and roles during production, while others went on to be known by other names. Illustrators Yang and El Dazo went on to publish their work as Edwin David and Bong Dazo, respectively. Before Michael O’Sullivan took over as senior editor in #1, he was an associate editor credited as Mike O’Sullivan in the earliest issues. Chris Crank, credited with Devil’s Due’s computer operations, was listed as Crank! from #1 until the final issue. Susan Bishop was last credited as office manager in #½. All roles remained the same from #1 until the end of production.
  • While Kinetic Kolorz was credited with digital designs and colouring, these were actually the work of David Forrest and Eugene Perez Jr. Additional work was done by other digital artists while David and Eugene worked on other series, however, the names of these artists were not provided.
