HOPPER’s vol.2 SNAKE vs. ZOMBIE

This gathering event was held at club asia in Tokyo, Japan on April 14, 2007. It was hosted by Yumi Kikuchi and Hidekuni Shida and also attended by SUDA51, Hideo Kojima, Shinji Mikami, Hifumi Kono, Keīchirō Toyama, MASK DE UH, Tetsuya Miszuguchi, Fumito Ueda, Kazutoshi Iida, Kazuya Asano, and Kazunari Yonemitsu. On a second stage, music was performed by Norihiko Hibino with the Tokyo Underground Jazz Ensemble, Akira Yamaoka and the band Aural Vampire, ghm sound team members Masafumi Takada, Jun Fukuda, and Shinya Tanaka, and Iida’s own band THE RIOT -Ikari no 10dai-. Merchandise such as soundtracks and Hand in killer7 were sold at the event. An afterparty dubbed Heavenly Star Party with HOPPER’S supported by Xbox 360 was held at WOMB, organized by Q Entertainment and featuring the music of Genki Rockets. A Lumines Live! competition took place at the afterparty, and the first player to clear the most squares within 60 seconds took home an Xbox 360.

An excerpt of the conversation between SUDA51, Kojima, and Mikami was released on the July 2007 FamitsuWaveDVD. Shortly afterward, this footage was translated by 1UP for episode 94 of The 1UP Show on July 20, 2007.

SUDA51’s SDATCHER and a Nintendo DS port of The Silver were teased during the talk panel. The Silver was later demonstrated on an actual Nintendo DS Lite during Grasstream: HOPPER’S TV, however, it was quietly cancelled sometime afterward.

Music

GRASSHOPPER MANUFACTURE‘s sound team played a handful of songs at HOPPER’s vol.2 SNAKE vs. ZOMBIE. Notably, two songs from NO MORE HEROES were performed several months before the game was released, although their final names were not yet decided.
