This figure is the mother of GRASSHOPPER MANUFACTURE CEO SUDA51. She was born on January 1, 1942, and went on to marry and welcome a son, Gôichi Kobayashi, on January 2, 1968. Not long afterward, however, her husband left, leaving Suda to continue raising Kobayashi as a single parent. Her separation was accepted around 1975, after which she changed her son’s surname to match hers. Ironically, her father-in-law suggested the name Gôichi in the first place as a tribute to actor Ken Takakura, whose real name was Gôichi Oda. After Kobayashi became known as Gôichi Suda, the tribute to Oda was not only preserved through happenstance but also became more obvious.
